Avoid the Gap with a Medicare Supplement
Original Medicare covers a wide variety of hospital and doctors' services but leaves behind part of the costs to you. Medicare Supplement policies pick up the slack and give you peace of mind so you can focus on getting better rather than your health costs.
What is a Medicare Supplement?
Medicare Supplements, also known as Medigap plans, are insurance policies that add on coverage to your existing Part A/B Medicare benefits. Original Medicare still has many deductibles, coinsurances, and copays that you have to pay for out of pocket. A Medicare supplement policy takes care of the extra expenses leaving you and your wallet with a smile.
For Example, 2017 Part A hospital benefits have a $1,316 deductible. This alone can put a dent in your finances but a Medicare supplement policy pays for this deductible.
What are my options?
Medicare standardizes 10 Medicare supplement plans labeled by letters A through N. The benefits for each plan are regulated and are not allowed to be changed by insurance companies. Each plan is unique in what and how it covers your Medicare health expenses. Plan F covers all coinsurance, copays, and deductibles while Plan G covers the same as Plan F except for the Part B deductible. The different plan options are offered so that you can select the plan that best fits your needs and your finances.
Keep in mind, Parts A, B, C, and D are different from Plans A-N:
Part A, B, C, and D signify the different parts of Medicare
Plans A-N signify the different plan options for Medicare supplements
